The girls also took part in a variety of hands- on activities, including some hosted by the Association of Women in Aviation Maintenance (AWAM), which cel- ebrated its 20th anniversary during the conference. Aer- obatic champion Patty Wagstaff shared her adventures with the attendees as a luncheon speaker. PaƩy for a Day AŌon Kurek, WAI 69746, donned a PaƩy Wagstaff flight- suit for the day and gladly agreed to answer our quesƟons. 1) What three words would you use to describe the Girls in AviaƟon Day? Awesome, exciƟng, and moƟvaƟng! 2) What was your favorite acƟvity? The mapping chart- ing thingy. 3) What was it like meeƟng PaƩy Wagstaff? Super amazing! I want to be just like her when I grow up! How could you not? She is awesome! 4) What do you want to be when you grow up? When I grow up I want to be a pilot just like Ms. PaƩy. Oh, and maybe fly with the NOAA hurricane hunters too. 5) Would you recommend a friend to aƩend the next Girls in AviaƟon Day? Yes I would! Well, I have. It was so much fun! It was cool to be around other girls that liked the same things as me. Our deepest thanks to all of our volunteers for making the 28th Annual International Women in Aviation Conference a success—we could not have done this without you! Your countless hours of support are greatly appreciated! Volunteers CHRISTOPHER MILLER CHRISTOPHER MILLER MOLLY MARTIN MOLLY MARTIN
