Dear WAI members: The 27th annual Interna- tional Women in Aviation Conference is just around the corner as we go to press with this issue of the mag- azine. The expanse of the conference, in terms of the programs offered, social events convened, and ex- periences provided to those who attend, continues to in- crease and provide energiz- ing results. With snow on the ground and a fre in the freplace as I write this letter, it is a good time to refect on the upcoming spring and summer seasons. As the weather improves and we all begin participating in local and industry aviation events, remember to personally introduce others to WAI. Tell them what WAI membership has done for you, and show them what it can do for them. WAI's current new member campaign, Shoot for the Moon!, was announced in the January/February issue of Aviation for Women and runs through July and EAA AirVenture Osh- kosh. The grand prize includes two 2017 WAI conference registrations, one hotel room at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort for three nights, and four passes to the Disney theme parks. To be eligible to win you only have to sign up one new member! You are guaranteed other prizes just for sign- ing up members too, including a gift certifcate to use for shopping in the WAI online store. Ensuring WAI offers the right variety of benefts for its mem- bers is an ongoing effort. During the conference in Nashville we will be looking for input from our members there regard- ing benefts they currently use and new ones they would like us to consider. We are paying special attention to benefts based on where you are in your life. A student? Just begin- ning your career? At the midpoint and looking for that next step? Balancing family and career? After retirement? We want you to stay engaged with WAI all along the way and desire your input. Can't make it to Nashville? Be sure to stop by and see us at the Sun 'n Fun Fly-In in Lakeland, Florida, in April. I will again host my daily radio show, Women Shine at Sun 'n Fun, inter- viewing WAI members and aviation industry leaders. And on Friday we'll host another WAI Connect lunch as well. See Page 6 for details. If you are not already a member of a WAI chapter, consider joining one in your area this year—or, if there is not one in your area yet, helping us form a new one! Our chapter pro- gram is one of the best ways to stay engaged with your orga- nization and get the most out of your membership.
