Using their family flight privileges, teens aged 14 to 19 are matched with a youth in an- other part of the world and spend two weeks together in one teen's home and two weeks together in the other teen's home. It's the perfect opportunity to experience a different culture, hone foreign language skills, and enhance school résumés. IYE has been creating internation- al exchanges for 21 years, successfully matching more than 5,300 teens around the globe. IYE helps facilitate an appro- priate match, which has often resulted in lifelong friendships. Teens and their families communicate directly with the match family and build a relationship prior to the exchange. Program costs consist of a $300 application fee (fully refundable if a approved match is not located), the teens' airline passes, and spending money. Exchanges are available to: France, Australia, Spain, Germany, Canada, Swit- zerland, the United Kingdom, the Nether- lands, and more. Learn more and apply at www.IntlYouth.org or contact Camille Wheeler at cwheeler@intlyouth.org. Registration Opens for 40th Air Race Classic Registration is open for the 40th Air Race Classic (ARC), the annual all-women cross-country airplane race. More than 100 female pilots from around the world are expected to compete in the 2016 race, which begins Tuesday, June 21, 2016, in Prescott, Arizona, and ends Friday, June 24, 2016, in Daytona Beach, Florida. The oldest race of its kind in the United States, the ARC traces its roots to the 1929 Women's Air Derby, in which Amelia Earhart and 19 other female pilots raced from Santa Monica, California, to Cleve- land, Ohio. That contest marked the be- ginning of women's air racing in the U.S. For more information and to register visit www.AirRaceClassic.org. ✈ Conference Volunteers Needed The annual International Women in Aviation Conference isn't possible without a small army of volunteers—we need your help! For more information on how to help and what is needed visit www.WAI.org/16conference /volunteers.cfm.
