My easy answer to extend this all-year- round is—join your local WAI chapter! Chapters provide powerful contributions to their communities. The long list includes intro- ducing aviation as a career or a lifestyle at Girls in Aviation Day, career fairs, or in school class- rooms. We're impressed by the broad impact our chapter network also accomplishes through vari- ous charity work, and all while having fun. Other chapter activities include amazing so- cial, networking, and mentoring activities year- round. They var y from dinners and cocktail hours, paint and sip events, chocolate café and bakery visits, aviation business and ATC facil- ity tours, résumé writing workshops, interview and scholarship application seminars, as well as group 5K runs. This spring, we'll roll out a new program to honor the pioneering Women Air- force Service Pilots (WASP). Chapters will receive information on this honorable program to pay re- spect to our WASP members who have passed by visiting and commemorating graves on Memorial Day, May 31, 2018. The number of fun, informative, historical, and useful events are endless. If you are in need of a battery recharge, career advice, and comrad- ery with your fellow WAI members, your local WAI chapter could be the solution for you. With 115 chapters across the world in 17 coun- tries (and growing), there's usually a network of WAI members near you. No matter where you are in the world, we can help you get this unique and powerful year-round resource up and running near you. I'm here to help—just send me an email at mmartin@wai.org and we're on our way! ✈ Local Connections W A I C H A P T E R S M O L L Y M A R T I N EDELWEISS CHAPTER Early in October, the Edelweiss Chapter held its fourth conference day at Lausanne Airport.
