The eleva- Ɵon here is around 5,000 feet, so be sure to hydrate oŌen. Our exhibit hall will feature more than 180 companies, and all are looking forward to show you their products and talk about their services. Some will even have job opportuniƟes for you to consider. Speakers will engage and inspire you to achieve your dreams and goals. Exhibitors and presenters will introduce you to the latest inno- vaƟons and career opportuniƟes in the aviaƟon industry. You'll be sur- prised by the myriad events on the schedule this week. Last year was the last Ɵme WAI offered the Fast Pass program, which provided face-to-face meeƟngs for conference aƩendees for some of the airlines that were hiring. Due to a new strategy iniƟated by many of these companies this year, airlines will be hosƟng such events at their corporate faciliƟes rather than traveling to aviaƟon convenƟons. As a result in 2018, we will offer 45-minute hiring briefings by several aviaƟon companies. These group informaƟon ses- sions will give you the most up-to-date informaƟon on their hiring pracƟces, requirements, and trends plus an opportunity for you to ask quesƟons directly. AŌer our 2017 conference we surveyed our aƩendees asking for feedback for this year's confer- ence. You will find new programs, different topics, and other improvements including a few fun sur- prises. We encourage you to aƩend a new Friday eve- ning session to learn about the expanding drone/UAV/ UAS industry. As part of our expanding WAI Mentors Connect program, we will be holding Minute Mentor- ing® sessions to provide our students and young profes- sionals an opportunity to gain advice and suggesƟons from experienced women. Our morning fitness pro- gram has also been expanded to include Zumba, and once again will offer "Wake Up and Work Out With the Marines" and yoga. One of the biggest changes you'll see is our new Clos- ing CelebraƟon on Saturday evening. Instead of a for- mal banquet event, we have redesigned the program to a more casual, networking, fun buffet-style meal, with music and a Western theme. The event begins earlier, so you can come as you are from the educaƟon ses- sions or exhibit hall, or you can change to more casual aƫre—maybe even a Western ouƞit or boots! We hope you will join us for the fun and casual atmosphere to mark the end of our 2018 conference. Enjoy your Ɵme at our 29th annual gathering! If you are not already a WAI member, I invite you to become a part of this dynamic and growing organizaƟon so that you can enjoy the benefits of WAI membership year- round. To learn more about member benefits and our worldwide chapter program visit our WAI Membership area in the exhibit hall. Sincerely, Dr. Peggy Chabrian President and CEO Peggy Chabrian, Ed.D.
