78 AviationforWomen M A R C H / A P R I L 2 0 1 8 F or the past 20 years, Aviation for Women magazine has been making its way to mail- boxes around the world (digital and other- wise) as the official publication of Women in Aviation International. For 120 issues, we have honored the women who have found their passion in the world of aviation and aerospace, sometimes against great odds. From young mechanics to manufacturing workers, from GA pilots to women who shattered stereotypes in the military, young and old, the variety of the stories is astounding. The idea began with WAI founding board mem- ber Amy Carmien , who published Women in Aviation, The Publication. Then the late Carolyn Williamson took the helm as editor-in-chief, and created the glossy magazine version of what Amy had begun. Carolyn was followed by Amy Laboda , a WAI found- ing board member with a huge résumé, Kelly Nelson , now an executive editor at EAA, and current editor- in-chief Kelly Murphy , whose credentials are equally impressive. Join us in thanking all our contributors and celebrating 20 years of getting the message out about the accomplishments of women in aviation. ✈ . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
