SCHOL ARSHIP APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS Applicants must be a member of Women in AviaƟon InternaƟonal by November 1, 2018, and may apply for no more than three scholarships. Internships are not included in the three per member scholarship limit. Unless otherwise noted, scholarships will be awarded at the 30th Annual InternaƟonal Women in AviaƟon Conference at Long Beach ConvenƟon Center, March 14-16, 2019, in Long Beach, California. Most scholarships may be applied for electronically through the WAI website at www. WAI.org/educaƟon/scholarships. Please submit your applicaƟon only when you have all of the necessary files ready. Do not apply electronically and mail a paper applicaƟon for the same scholarship. Please be sure to read all instrucƟons carefully. Should you wish to print out the applicaƟon form and submit your applicaƟon on paper, all applicaƟon materials should be submiƩed in the same envelope. For each scholarship in- clude two stapled (no folders) complete applicaƟon sets (one original and one copy). These requirements are the minimum for all scholarships unless otherwise indicated. Some scholarships may require addiƟonal informaƟon; please read the descripƟon thor- oughly to make sure you meet all requirements. ALL APPLICATIONS SH OULD INC LUD E: • two (one-page) recommendaƟon leƩers • typed, descripƟve, 500-word essay • professional résumé • copies of all aviaƟon and medical cerƟficates and the last three pages of your pilot logbook (if applying for flight scholarships) • other applicable informaƟon as requested for each specific award/grant/scholarship • official WAI applicaƟon form if mailing your applicaƟon. Form is available at www.WAI.org/educaƟon/scholarships. D E SCRIP TIVE E SSAY AND RÉ SUMÉ SH OULD AD DRE SS: • your aviaƟon history and goals • what you have done to achieve your goals • where you see yourself in five and 10 years • how the scholarship will help you achieve your objecƟve and your present financial need • flight or other training/educaƟon for which you need assistance and how your previous training was financed • educaƟonal scholarships, awards, and honors • where you would obtain the training and the hourly rate for the instructor, aircraŌ, and simulators, or other costs, if applying for a cash scholarship • demonstrated involvement in aviaƟon acƟviƟes • other applicable informaƟon as requested for each specific award/grant/scholarship. InternaƟonal applicants must meet all requirements and, in addiƟon, must include your country's pilot, mechanic, or other requirements and the equivalent copies of aviaƟon cerƟficates, licenses, and medicals.
