Lets go where young girls are already and give them exposure to aviation," she said. "This is why events like EAA's WomenVenture and inspiring our young girls is so im- portant. Given the opportunity, I think women are better pi- lots," she said with a smile. "Research shows that men kind of muscle it and women tend to finesse it. We're not fighting it, we flow with it." Creating a Breakthrough Movement "All of us have passions fueled by fire inside us—those dreams and ideas that are itching to get out." Vernice has shaped her life and her work so that she may serve her family and humanity using her talents and experi- ence in the best possible ways. "I want to continue to grow my business, and help more people," she said. "Growing online and my coaching business will enable me to spend more time with my family." She considers herself lucky that she found what she calls "umph" at a young age. "Once you've found your passion and purpose, you've found your umph," she said. Her remarkable accomplishments speak to the power of taking on challeng- es, creating strategies and exceeding ambitions. "Marines have a philosophy: Leaders are made, not born," she said. "That's good news. It means our energy and passion can be harnessed through discipline and practice and channeled into action and accomplishment." She holds fast to the theory that there is no dream out of reach. "It's really about the freedom to do whatever the hell you want to do.
