We ap- preciate your input and are always working to make the association more valuable to you. Our membership spans many genera- tions—one of the hallmarks of WAI is the abil- ity for those who aspire to aviation careers to speak and engage with those who have experi- ence in the industry. You reported that WAI's greatest value to you is in inspiring networking, mentoring, and ca- reer transition support. Some of you were sur- prised at lesser-known WAI member benefits, so look for more information in the coming months on our member benefits and what we can do for you. To help ou r members con nec t, WA I just launched an updated and redesigned website that provides a member-engaging experience with intuitive search and navigation, including the ability to access the site via a wide variety of mobile devices. In ad- dition, we are developing educational materials, including aviation education activities for use by chapter leaders as well as the entire aviation community. Welcome New Editor of Aviation for Women Kelly Murphy , WAI 2397, has joined the WAI staff as Director of Communica- tions and Editor-in-Chief of Aviation for Women magazine. Kelly has spent decades in the aviation industry from learning to fly at age 16; writing and ed- iting a number of various aviation pub- lications; to running an international woman-owned aviation public relations and marketing services company called Emerald Media. Her work has support- ed clients around the globe in all sec- tors of the industry including general aviation, business aviation, commercial airlines and manufacturers, as well as a number of aviation-related associations and foundations. Most recently, Kelly published the Regional Airline Association's official publication Regional Horizons, and sup- ported Flight Safety Foundation's offi- cial magazine AeroSafety World. Kelly is the former editor of Professional Pilot magazine, Commuter/Regional Airline News, and Water Flying magazine. ✈ Congratulations! During During the WAI Connect Breakfast g the WAI Connect Breakfast on July 27, the winner of the 2016 Shoot for the Moon membership campaign was drawn. Leah Hetzel , WAI 39362, won the grand prize drawing for two full registrations to the 2017 International Women in Aviation Conference, three nights at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, four Disney theme park tickets, and two round-trip airline tickets. Welcome New Corporate Member National Flight Academy In the coming year, you also will see new benefits to support you as you ad- va nce t h rou g h t he sea son s of you r career—from student to seasoned pro- fessional to aviation mentor. We plan to engage more with col- leges and universities and students at every grade level to foster and inspire women in aviation careers—they repre- sent the future of aviation.
