EDELWEISS CHAPTER
The Edelweiss Chapter in Lausanne, Switzerland, hosted its second annual Aero Day
at Lausanne Airport in October. The event featured presentations from aeronautical
engineer Asieh Rahmad

of the Swiss Aeroclub, and
CEO of Air-Espace fight school Arsène Gigon . Olympic gold medalist and Edelweiss
Chapter member Dominique Gisin also shared a bit about her career as a competition
skier and her journey to becoming a private pilot.
A focus of Aero Day is the desire to help young people
realize their aspirations in aviation. The Women Pilots As-
sociation awarded Céline Bar toloni a scholarship of 500
Swiss francs toward her goal of becoming a helicopter pi-
lot. Planes of Lausanne sponsored Aero Day registration
for Léonore Bornand Bolli who dreams of becoming a pilot.
And Edelweiss Chapter president Sandrine Rohrer provided
Nicolas Cattin his frst fight. A special thank goes to the city
of Lausanne, who offered the wine to close this event, and
Lausanne Tourism for its publicity. ✈
