I also plan and manage WAI's presence at oth- er events throughout the year including EAA, Sun 'n Fun, AOPA etc. What do you enjoy most about your job? I love t he fast-paced, on-site side of event planning. Seeing the plans that have been discussed and worked on for months being put into action is great. As stressful as those last few days get, that's really when I have the most fun. Putting out fres and seeing things work is the best part. Describe your first airplane ride: I was 8 years old, fying from Florida to Ohio af- ter spending the summer with my aunt. I felt so grown up and I'm pretty sure I probably thought I was the coolest kid ever while on that plane. What is your most memorable aviation ex- perience? Introducing my daughter to Neil Armstrong. He was such a gracious man and was so kind to her; she will re- member that for a lifetime. Most memorable person you met through WAI? So many! My favorites are some of the young women we meet at shows across the county who have a determi- nation and excitement for aviation so strong it practically bubbles out of them. I love seeing it and know we will be hearing more about them as they grow older and accomplish all their goals. ✈ Conference Volunteers Needed The annual International Women in Aviation Conference isn't possible without a small army of volunteers— we need your help! As a volunteer you'll not only help the organization keep conference costs down, but also have fun and meet interesting people at the same time. For more information on how to help and what is needed visit www.WAI.org/16conference /volunteers.cfm. WAI has accomplished amazing things in the last 27 years, and we couldn't have done it without your generous support. Thank you to those who have already donated! There's still time to make your tax-deductible donation to the WAI annual fund for 2015. Visit www.wai.org/ donate to see some of the many ways we will put your gift to work to advance women in aviation for years to come.
