Love Field in October. The event was host- ed by the community and included live music, food trucks, airplanes, police cars, fre trucks, and the SafeLaunch airplane that people and kids were able to paint on. The goal of the event was to interest children and families in aviation as a way to help chil- dren grow up with hope for an exciting future. The SafeLaunch air- craft that played a large part in the event flew in from Santa Barba- ra, California, and is used to increase aware- ness of substance abuse and protecting youth from harm by encour- aging children to build dreams and live a drug free life through aviation. Chapter members helped kids paint the SafeLaunch plane and ensure the entire event ran smoothly. ✈ REPUBLIC CHAPTER The Republic Chapter toured the tower at John F. Kennedy International Airport in August, hosted by supervisor Phil Nicola. GONE WITH THE WIND CHAPTER In October, members of the Gone With the Wind Atlanta Chapter partnered with Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta at the STEM Expo 2015. There were over 1,000 girls from grades K-12 who were able to earn a badge and learn about the aviation industry at the booth. The girls were excited to hear about future events that the chapter will be hosting come spring and fall of 2016.
