Preference will be given to New Jersey, Illinois, and Arizona residents, but all appli- cants will be considered. Funds will be paid directly to the fight school of your choice. In addition to WAI requirements submit a one- to two- page essay (remember, concise is always nice) that ex- plains "Why I Love to Fly." (Scholarship value $2,500) Delta Air Lines Boeing 777 Type Rating Certifcate Scholarships (2) Delta Air Lines will award two B777 type rating certifcates to qualifed recipients who are currently enrolled or have a baccalaureate degree. Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) and have leadership potential. All training will be approximately six concurrent weeks and conducted in Atlanta, Georgia; lodging accommoda- tions and round-trip airfare will be provided during train- ing (meals not included). In addition to the B777 type rating certifcate, each re- cipient will receive a trip to the 28th annual International Women in Aviation Conference (including round-trip air- fare, hotel accommodations, and conference fee). Résumé must include the following: all schools at- tended, including high school with city and state for each school; GPA; dates attended for college; and all degrees. If applicable, all military history, including all occupations, ranks, education, and dates, must be included. Candidates should list academic honors, scholarships, awards, and special achievements. Minimum qualifcations include the following: commer- cial, instrument, and multiengine land certifcates a mini- mum of 1,500 hours' total time; must have passed an FAA ATP written exam within the last two years; and a current frst class FAA medical certifcate. Candidates must include a copy of their automobile driver's license, current passport, and list any moving vi- olations, dates, locations, and associated details for the last seven years. Candidates must include a statement of conviction (any type of violation of the law, moving or not) with complete dates and locations. Candidates should provide details pertinent to any letters of inquiries from the FAA regarding any aircraft incidents or accidents, and a list of all FAA checkride failures. (Scholarship value $35,000 each) Diane Endres Ballweg Scholarship This scholarship is given to a woman over 30 who wants to learn to fy or who already has a pilot certifcate (private, sport, or recreational) and wants to pursue an advanced certificate or rating, i.e. instrument, commercial, etc. The scholarship award will be paid directly to the fight school to be applied to the recipient's account. (Scholarship value $500) 2017 FedEx Express Boeing 757/767 Type Rating Scholarship (2) FedEx Express will award a B757/767 type rating to two qualified female pilots who are members of Women in Aviation International. The training program will include all appropriate materials. The training will be in Memphis, Tennessee, in fall 2017. Minimum qualifcations include the following: commer- cial, instrument, and multiengine certifcates; a minimum of 1,500 hours' total flight time; must have passed a FAA ATP written within the last two years; and must hold a cur- rent frst-class FAA medical certifcate. A candidate's early withdrawal from the course or fail- ure to secure the type rating does not obligate FedEx to of- fer any remedial training or another opportunity to attend the course. The type rating is limited to the named recipi- ent and is non-transferable. There is no cash equivalent for the type rating program. In addition to the B757/767 Type Rating Scholarship, FedEx Express will host the recipient with attendance to the 2017 annual International Women in Aviation Confer- ence in Orlando, Florida (including hotel and conference registration). In addition to the minimum WAI scholarship applica- tion requirements, candidates must address the follow- ing questions within their 500-word essay: How would this scholarship help you achieve your career goals? Describe what the FedEx phrase "Absolutely Positively Overnight" means to you. (Scholarship value $25,000 each) HAI Initial Helicopter Scholarship This scholarship will be awarded to someone interested in obtaining a private helicopter rating. Preference will be giv- en to an applicant who has a minimum of fve hours logged in a helicopter by the scholarship deadline date. Fixed wing experience is not required. Proof of a current third-class medical certificate and logged helicopter time is required. (Scholarship value $1,000) Jeppesen Flight Training Scholarship Jeppesen's commitment to general aviation includes a pi- lot fight training scholarship for an individual working to- ward a private, recreational, or sport pilot certifcate or in- strument rating. Funds will be paid directly to your fight school and training is to be completed within one year. The recipient will be chosen based on passion for fying, commitment to completing flight training, and two refer- ence letters highlighting the applicant's character quali- ties. Applicants who are full-time students enrolled in high school, an accredited fight program, or an accredited col- lege or university should have a GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale). Award recipients will also receive Jeppesen's online sport, private, or instrument flight training course to en- hance the fight training experience. (Scholarship value $5,000) The Keep Flying Scholarship 2017 The Keep Flying Scholarship was cre- ated after 9/11 to offer an intermedi- ate level flight scholarship. Sponsors Deborah Hecker, Evelyne Tinkl, Christi Dobelli, and Kate Busch are of fering one $3,000 scholarship to an individual working on a Online Applicatons Only Dare to Dream Scholarship The sponsors of this scholarship would like to make a difference in the life of one deserving per- son who is pursuing her dream in the world of aviation. A $3,000 scholarship will be awarded to an individual working toward an instrument or multiengine rating, or commercial or CFI certifcate. Funds will be paid directly to your fight school and training must be completed within one year. The recipient will be chosen on a basis of merit, career aspirations, and dedication, as well as contributions to her community.
