Dear WAI members: I hope this fi nds you hav- ing an enjoyable and pro- ductive summer! In May we sent each of you a membership survey designed to help us deter- mine which membership benefi ts you use most, other benefi ts you would like to see us add, and other ques- tions related to your WAI membership. I appreciate your input. The WAI board is meeting the last week of June to review the survey results and integrate your suggestions into our stra- tegic plan. The WAI staff will then look at ways to best use your ideas to improve our member benefi ts program and conference offerings. In May I had the privilege of speaking at the Regional Air- line Association Annual Convention in North Carolina. The information presented there from a pilot study conducted last fall and the implementation strategies being introduced between colleges/universities and the regionals is admi- rable. Emphasizing the quality of fl ight time gained rather than solely hours accumulated was a signifi cant result of the study fi ndings. We will be seeing more of the regional air- lines participating at our conference in March in Orlando as they look to fi ll positions in their companies—for both pilots and mechanics. Although there has been a steady increase in the number of airlines and affi liate companies participating in our annual conferences, due in part to the hiring needs of these compa- nies, we have not forgotten our business aviation, general avi- ation, and military aviation members. As we make plans for the annual conference we are ensuring speakers for the main events as well as our breakout sessions cover the spectrum of aviation interests. We have a lot of fun planned for March at Disney's Coronado Springs resort too—as always, our annual conference will be something you don't want to miss. Our fall regional conference in Seattle is also shaping up to be a must attend event. Admission to the Museum of Flight is included in the conference registration and special exhibits at the museum include a look at Boeing's 100th an- niversary, a WASP display, as well as a signifi cant collec- tion of aircraft and aviation memorabilia. Tours of aviation and local Seattle sites are optional conference activities as well. Be sure to visit www.WAI.org to get all the details and register. Speaking of WAI.org, by now you should have noticed its new look. We couldn't be prouder of the outcome of the months of hard work that went into creating this new web- site for our members. We've started with a new look and a platform that allows for greater functionality and allows a solid foundation for future expansion and additional fea- tures. We hope you enjoy it, and welcome your feedback on it by emailing feedback@wai.org. I hope to see you next month in Oshkosh during EAA AirVenture! WomenVenture will again kick off with a WAI Connect Breakfast in the EAA Nature Center on Wednesday, July 27. If you are planning to attend AirVenture be sure to join us that day!
