They both had the opportunity to follow the same script, but in each case they made the day their own. They know what their strengths and weaknesses are and they adapted to the situation to make it work for them. It was intriguing to me because they're usually at school all day and I don't get the chance to spend a full day with them being an active observer. They may have had d i f ferent ex- per iences, but the outcome was the same. At the end of each great day I was a proud mother to a beaming son. At the end of each great day I had a son stopping to hug me and telling me how much he liked going to my offce. Bot h boys told me how n ice ever y- one was to them and to me. They also told me how cool it was to learn frst- hand about my employer for the last 15 years. They were also excited to grow up and one day work someplace awe- some too. I don't know that I had any expectations that my boys might choose aviation as a career path as a result of their day with me. If either of them ever express an interest in aviation my husband and I will happily help guide them on to a path toward a career in the feld. What I hadn't expected, and what I love the most about each experience, is that my boys had a positive experience about being a working professional. They know I love what I do and they got to see that my co-workers love what they do, too, and that we all value each other. They got to see that bosses aren't scary, and neither are big office buildings in big cities. They see their dad put on his pilot uniform and know he jets around the world every week. I am proud that they got to see me in a professional setting too. I'm sure they have wondered about the people I talk to on the other end of the phone, or the projects they see me working on at my computer, but taking them to actually see my company really showed them that I work hard at a ca- reer I love. I hope they choose a career they are passionate about, and I also hope they choose partners in life who are passion- ate about what they do. As parents we can instill in them these qualities by our own examples, re- gardless of our career or daily work life. They don't have to be us but it would be great if they wanted to be like us! ✈ . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
