In your essay tell how the funds will be used, your goals, and other information you feel is relevant. One letter of recommen- dation must be from a pilot who has fown with you. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or have the legal right to work in the U.S. (Scholarship value $3,000) Keep Flying Scholarship Southern Africa 2017 Keep Flying Scholarship and South- ern African Women in Aviation & Aerospace Industry (SAWIA) are of- fering one $3,000 (approximately R20000) scholar- ship to an individual working on an in- strument or multiengine, commercial, or flight instructor certificate. Candidates must be citizens of a SADC country, hold a private pilot certifcate, have 100 hours' fight time, and have passed all written exams for the cer- tifcate sought. Follow WAI guidelines and in your essay tell how the funds will be used, your goals, and any relevant in- formation. One letter of recommendation must be from a pilot who has fown with you. Scholarship will only be paid out to a South African fight school. Interviews will be in Johannesburg, South Africa, in February 2017. (Scholarship value $3,000) Kelsey A. Meyer Memorial Scholarship One $2,000 scholarship to be awarded to a female student at college level of sophomore year or above currently en- rolled in an aviation/professional flight degree program at an accredited university who has achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.0. All scholarship funds must be used for educational and flight-related expenses. Funds will be paid directly to the school and must be used within a year of receiving the award. Include in your essay a per- sonal statement outlining your career aspirations and how the funds will be used. (Scholarship value $2,000) Lt. Valerie Cappelaere Delaney Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is open to a female WAI member from any country, 18 years of age or older. The scholarship will be awarded to an individual pursuing a private pilot cer- tificate. Lt. Valerie Cappelaere Delaney lived her lifelong dream of becoming a pilot, flying the EA-6B Prowler for the U.S. Navy. She was brilliant, strong-willed, determined, and had unwavering faith. The winner of this scholarship should embody some if not all of these characteristics. Ap- plicants are encouraged to research Lt. Delaney and draw similarities to her. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the winner's fight school of choice and must be used with- in a year of receiving this award. (Scholarship value $5,000) The Martha King Scholarship for Female Flight Instructors A female fight instructor will receive assistance in achiev- ing a new rating on her f light in- structor certificate, as well as life- t i m e a c c e s s t o t h e e n t i r e K i n g Schools online course librar y of over 85 courses. Mar tha and John King are co - chairman of King Schools, the largest provider of online training for pilots from student through professional. A primary mission of King Schools is to support fight instructors by pre- paring their clients for FAA knowl- edge tests and providing training insights through King 's Flight In- structor Refresher Course. Martha is the first and only woman to hold every cate- gory and class of FAA rating on her pilot and instructor cer- tificates. She is active in many categories, regularly flying everything from jets to piston airplanes and helicopters. Martha and John King have been champions for the cause of improving the risk management practices of general avi- ation pilots and they speak to thousands of pilots each year on aviation safety. The award includes $5,000 to apply toward any CFI add- on rating, access to the entire library of King Schools online courses for life (valued at $13,120), and FIRCs for life. Appli- cants must be women holding a current FAA CFI certifcate. (Scholarship value $18,120) MzeroA.com Flight Training Scholarship (3) MzeroA.com provides online fight training to prepare you for your written and oral exams. The course is good for those pursuing private pilot, instrument pilot, or commer- cial pilot ratings. The scholarship includes tuition and eight books related to your fight training. Scholarship winner will also receive a full registration to the 2017 International Women in Aviation Conference. Along with access to seminars and multiple networking op- portunities, we will introduce the winner to key people in aviation who share their experiences. The MzeroA.com Flight Training Scholarship does not in- clude FAA testing fees. Students have one year to complete all online training. The criteria are simple: Submit a video titled "Your Name- MzeroA.com Scholarship WAI 2017." Tell us why you fy or want to fy.
